Exercising during pregnancy improves your stamina, suppleness and strength. It helps you face the extra strain placed on your body as it adapts to meet the demands of pregnancy and childbirth. You also develop a better understanding of your body and it's capabilities making it easier to learn different relaxing techniques
Here are some good recommendations, but you should check with your physician first;.
Walking; This is perfect especially for people who are usually not active. Walking is good for digestion, circulation and your physique. Walk tall,with your butt tucked under your spine, shoulders back and head up. Always wear well cushioned flat shoes.
Dancing; If you are not too energetic you can dance throughout your pregnancy.
Swimming; This tones muscles and is excellent for improving stamina. Usually your weight is supported by the water, making it easier for muscles and joints to work without strain. And some sports centres offer special antenatal swimming classes.
Yoga; This has many benefits, such as increasing suppleness and reducing tension.It teaches you to control your concentration and breathing during labor.
Exercises to practice with caution are; jogging, sit ups and backpacking among others.
