Last Sunday a mum asked me how I possibly could look smart, despite having two tiny kids and boys at that. I was quite taken aback and the answer I gave was pretty lame. But she wanted to know how I could look so good any way. I realized how as a parent, one can sometimes get soaked up in taking care of everyone and everything else but oneself (I did that after my first child). However, I felt self pity and sometimes I just wanted to scream I need few minutes to breath (it can lead to depression). Take care of yourself, it is very important for your well being and that extends to your child.
As a mum time is not on our side, there is so much you can do, and by the time you realize, it's bed time. My rule is do the least you can do in a few minutes, but make sure it's enough to make a statement.
Here are some tips; (I will break it into sections, today it's make-up)
Make up
(I am assuming you have cleansed and moisturized your face at this point)
You have to prime your face, then apply foundation and depending with if you have dark circles after the foundation, you can use a concealer but you don't have to (I only use a concealer if I notice the dark circles are unbearably visible).
You can add some translucent powder but that depends on your skin type and whether you are using a cream, powder, foundation stick, liquid or cream to powder foundation. The look you are going for is also important (matte or dewy). I use a liquid foundation for a dewy look or a cream to powder foundation when I want to do the least on my face (I find them to be perfect coverage).
Add some mascara and (optionally) an eye liner(if you are good and fast at it).
Finish off your look with some lipstick and trust me, after holding your hair (however rough) you will still look well put together, content and composed. And if you are like me, It will help boost your morale and keep you on toes.
Bring out your audacious...
