Pregnancy can be a beautiful or ugly experience, whatever the case take care of yourself.
During my first pregnancy,I was overwhelmed with excitement, I never thought about anything else besides that beautiful thing growing in me (mind you it wasn't an easy pregnancy). During my first hospital visit,I met a mid wife who was.....awesome (very supportive and offered advice without having to be asked. Quite uncommon here)
During a chat on importance of self care during pregnancy, she mentioned how important it was to moisturize and massage my belly with extra-virgin olive oil as much as possible. As it aids the skin when it's stretching and thus prevents stretch marks. Her advice was to moisturize every time I went to empty my bowel (if you have been pregnant or are pregnant, you do know how many awkward times that is :D).
Unfortunately my skin was drying out despite the recommended oil and countless number of times I applied it.
In my next hospital visit, I told my midwife my dry skin nightmare despite her regimen . She checked my belly area, and agreed olive oil was not working, at least for me. That is when she told me to try Vaseline intensive care advanced repair (http://amzn.to/2wMU19Y). I did skeptically this time around, and I have no stretch marks despite having them on my behind...I didn't notice any other areas were expanding :D. (I guess you should use all over your body, but I didn't. My belly was key and rubbing was soothing and satisfying when the baby answered in little movements :))
If virgin oil dries you out, this (http://amzn.to/2wMU19Y) Vaseline is for you, it's so good it helped with eczema on my newborn son(that is in another post). You have to use it post pregnancy until your belly is back to almost normal if not its previous normal size...or like me,you can stick with it.
